Discover Vero Beach and the Treasure Coast
Treasures abound in Vero Beach and our nearby communities. One of the unique experiences you'll discover here is the annual sea turtle nesting and hatching season. From May through October, sea turtles make their way to our beaches and make their nests. Most of the turtle nesting takes place from June to August, with hatchlings emerging about 60 days after the nest is made. There are a number of
nighttime walks organized to allow small numbers of the public to view the nesting phase. The hatchling phase is a delicate and dangerous time to view, so there are no legal public walks to view the hatchlings. However, we do have morning "Turtle Troops" three times a week, where a naturalist takes guests to view the nests.
